Why did you go into Music Therapy?

I have always had a deep love for music and helping others. I have a younger cousin who was diagnosed with an 18th Chromosome Disorder.  My aunt and uncle frequently spoke about the impact music therapy had on their son, and how he would lighten up in the presence of the music therapist.  Music is more powerful than people realize, and I wanted to share it’s power to positively impact others.

Favorite music-related quote?

“Where words fail, music speaks.” -Hans Christian Andersen

What is your favorite part of being a music therapist?

My favorite part of being a music therapist is walking through life with my clients and seeing them reach their goals.  There is nothing better than to be able to see the hard work they put into sessions come to fruition!
